Now that I think about it - maybe this is still icky! I mean, who wants to look at some of those naked bodies in the gym??? Of course, it could be a great modern marketing tool. |

Chalk this one up to "True".
And to take it further into the realm of icky  I once read that gymnasiums were the reason that Jewish circumcision became a full lop-off instead of a little ritualistic snip. Don't know if that one is true or not, though.

True. With everyone naked, the not-allowed women couldn't disguise themselves as men and sneak in.
I have two cadets that, of late, will spend the few minutes before class starts executing wrestling moves on each other. I, of course, am mightily amused and point out the homo-eroticism of wrestling. They protest a lot and tell me I have a sick mind, yet they keep doing it.
