That ranks right up there with dirty teeth being detrimental to the heart. I believe that my dentist had a poster up in the office, saying that clean, flossed teeth and good oral hygiene contribute to good heart health.

I remember my dentist asking me when I was just barely pregnant with one of my kids if I knew I was pregnant yet. Evidently the teeth and gums tell alot more about your general health than you know!!!

There is a link between flossing and cardiac health. Apparently, flossing one's teeth releases an enzyme that fights plaque in the arteries and helps keep one's arteries from becoming blocked.
My gums started bleeding when I was pregnant as well. Just goes to show that pregnancy is a whole-body experience.
Oh,yeah, I remember the whole change in the gums thing when I was pregnant.
I had also heard the link between clean teeth and heart health. I've also seen studies where poor dental health was linked to poor overall health because missing teeth makes it difficult to eat healthy foods.
