Re Easter Weekend, 3/26 and 3/27

Okay! Two slices of 12-grain bread with 2 t of peanut butter for breakfast. I really stout bread. If there are chunks of grain in it, so much the better!

2.6 mile, very brisk walk with the dog. Cloudy but nice temps and not much wind (a blessing in itself) today. It felt good to get out and sweat a little.

Lynn

What brand? I've read every @#$^ "X-number of Whole Grain" bread in the bread aisle and I can't find one with more than 4 grams of fiber per slice.

Well, this has less fiber than I'd like, only 1g per slice, but it's pretty darned good. I had a better brand last week, but can't remember which one it was. The stuff I have now is Oroweat 12-grain. 4g per slice is awesome...what brand is that?

Stop and Shop Oatmeal Bread - store brand, believe it or not! And it's got the texture of real bread, not that wallboard stuff from Trader Joe's.

Wow, Lynn, the Winn Dixie brand "Classic Grain" bread I've been buying has 2 grams of fiber per slice. I can't imagine why a 12 grain bread would only have 1!

Hm. Maybe it's thin? Are you sure it's not "per serving" and the serving size is two slices?

Add to my tally for the day a cup of potato salad for lunch and 30 minutes of football with the boys. I also spent 20 minutes picking up dog mess (who would guess that such a small dog could contribute so much fertilizer!) but other than stooping and picking up, it really wasn't much exercise.

Dinner will be something Italian, salad, tiramisu and margaritas. Not very healthy, but very tasty.

Lynn

Re Easter Weekend, 3/26 and 3/27

Nope, serving size is one slice, and it's regular sized slices. It's got whole wheat flour, unbleached enriched wheat flour, malted barley flour, and wheat bran in it. It's not overly texture rich, but you do find at least one or two pieces of something in each slice. They kind of look like sunflower seeds, but they're not. Maybe the bran? 60 calories, 1 gram of fat, 12 grams of carbs and 2 grams of dietary fiber.

I had some Koolaid and one cookie earlier. Dinner will be homemade chili and some cornbread. It was *supposed* to pour down rain this afternoon, so I thought it was going to cool off and be all icky and that chili would be good. Nothin' doin. The weatherman's on right now expounding on area watches and warningsand there's nothing going on right here.

I had half an orange this morning.
Then a McDonalds yogurt parfait.
Then a veggie burger and cooscoos.

Had the chili and cornbread - YUM! Then a few too many chocolate covered cashews, oops. I earned 'em today, methinks.

Re Easter Weekend, 3/26 and 3/27

Took a nice long walk (hilly route 2.6 miles) with the dog and son. Excellent day. Ham, baked potatoes, corn, rolls for dinner. Ready to chill with DH (that's Desperate Housewives )

Leftovers from last night's party, ham, rice and Nigerian meatsauce, so far no Easter chocolate, I'm saving the Lindt bunny. (sale priced today, at Shoppers Drug)
