Re Private Diabetes Discussion Forum Opens | | MJ, in talking with a couple of people, they don't want their condition known in public nor do they feel comfortable talking about some of the side effects. I guess it view as something for our EA family. The American Diabetes Association and several other sites provide awesome resources. This is something for our EA family.
If that changes over time, and the group feels comfortable with their medical information spread throughout the web, then I have no problem flipping the switch.
Frankly, we have had private areas for gossip, money isssues and kids, and I view all of those as much less sensitive than someone talking about their medical conditions.
It's a sweet idea, but it has much less to do with the disease's rarity than with the people who want privacy. |
