| | Re ENT, tonsils and acid reflux | | Yes - TMJ can cause horrible headaches. I had Migrains - several times a week. The doctors wouldn't do anything for me. I called my mother and said that if someone didn't help I was going to kill myself. I went back home and saw the dentist and he diagnosed it. I can now feel when my jaw is tight and I know the headache is coming. You really have to teach yourself to relax your jaw.
Now this torture device that Sarah is getting - this is like braces to push the teeth out? Is it semi-permanent, or can she take it out? If you're concerned you should talk about TMJ and headaches with her orthodontist. |

| | Re ENT, tonsils and acid reflux | | So I wake up this a.m. and it feels like my throat is on fire. Right ear hurts AGAIN.
I look in my throat. The white lump is gone. It must have come off during the night and that's what hurts so much. Plus I'm either suffering horribly from allergies (given, but not likely) or am coming down with a terrific cold (probable). Stayed home from work and slept most of the afternoon.
But the TMJ is not getting any better despite hot packs every night and ibiprophen 3x day. I don't know what to do...was supposed to go back to the dentist today, but I cancelled because I feel so pukey on top of everything else.

| | Re ENT, tonsils and acid reflux | | It's funny, because he mentioned it when I was in...I said "I don't grind my teeth when I sleep" but I have woken up several days and I think I was CLENCHING them and relaxed them just as I woke up. Knowing the trouble I have with spit and mouth guards, however, I don't know that I can stomach one.
I've been sleeping on my back or with my head hanging off the pillow so I don't put pressure on my jaw when I sleep. It's not very comfortable.
And he also said that the treatment I had back in college where they ground down my teeth and "fixed" my bite was the thing to do at that time, but it probably created more problem than not.

| | Re ENT, tonsils and acid reflux | | Cripes. I feel like Same Time, Next Year.
I am getting another one of those lumps on my right tonsil again. My right ear hurts like hell all the time. My right tonsil hurts too.
I cannot go back to that stupid ENT, I am still paying on the extremely not needed, invasive procedures he did last winter. Obviously, the pain has nothing to do with TMJ - I have not had an issue with TMJ since starting with the chiro.
I don't know what to do...I can't be in this much pain constantly, it makes me a bigger bitch than I normally am. But I can't go through another round of "guess what's causing Lynn's sore throat" and having a tonsilectomy scares the crap out of me.
