I had an eye exam last month, and the optometrist said I had some cholesterol deposits in my eyes. He wanted to know if I was taking cholesterol medication.
I told him I'd had my annual checkup in November and that, as far as I knew, my test results were fine.
When I checked with my doctor, they said my cholesterol was 170 and my HDL and LDL were both in the normal range.
They said they'd send the optometrist a fax with this info.
Well, I guess I shouldn't be concerned......but I wonder whether I should be. If my cholesterol is so perfect, why do I have deposits in my eyes (and does that mean I have them other places, too?)
My doctor said they'd keep a watch on it, but I probably won't be going back until next November.
(For reference purposes, I'm in my mid-50's.) |
