| | OK, this could probably go in the business forum, since this is (fortunately) something that only happens at work, but what they hey. Pippa's the only one not using the the new threads feature anyway.
What I wanna know is, why do the skinny, haven't-eaten-in-three-days-and-starting-to-show-it-in-the-attitude bintzes (I think I made that one up) walk up to me and ask me detailed questions about the jogging trails around campus and act surprised when I tell them I can give them a map and point them in the general direction, but *no* I don't actually have any real experience in *jogging* on them.
I mean, I'm sorry, but I do *not* look like someone that jogs. I don't even really look like someone that walks more than she absolutely has to. I look like someone you should be asking about selections in the restaurant. OK, lately I've been looking like someone who know *alot* about the dessert selections at the restaurant, but even at my sveltist, I've never looked like someone who's taken this whole "excersize" thing with less than a grain of salt. And usually a healthy portion of something yummy on the side.
But they PESTER me. Seriously. PESTER. With capitals. And not in a good "well-wouldn't-you-like-to-try-it-it-can-be-a-lot-of-fun Wormie sort of way, either. More like a complete incomprehension of the concept that I don't want to go friggen jogging, ever!
Bleah.
Anyway, there's my rant for the day. You can all pretend I work third shift and got confused and thought it was Wednesday.

Eris, I've heard it from reliable sources that jogging releases some sort of endorphins that become addictive and the said joggers become like drug pushers.
My response would be "Look, I usually run when chased. However, if you'd like to strap, say, a 5-lb. box of Stever's chocolate to your back, I'd be happy to run along behind you. I cannot guarantee your safety once I catch you, however. Now have a nice run!" |

Eris - the answer should be "You jog!! Great. Hold on a second - let me find my purse. Could you race down to McDonalds and get me a happy meal - I'm starving!" |

| | Re Why, why, why, why me? | | Pippa, I used to go forum by forum, too. That was back when I was active but not really sucked in. The day I found the New Posts button was the beginning of the end for me. Be afraid, be very afraid.

| | Re Why, why, why, why me? | | I was a runner and I still hated running--I did not try to convince others to try it. Now I'm happy to be a walker, but I'm still not trying to convert anyone to walking.
