| | I have a portable EKG on today. A little akward, but it wouldn't be so bad if it didn't itch so much! They have this thing taped all over and the wires are pulling and the tape is pulling and it ITCHES!!!! Good think its just for one day. |

| | Oh sorry!
No - nothing to worry about. Doc thinks that I might have a slight murmur so she wanted me to check it out. No biggie! Worst that can happen is I'll need antibiotics before I have my teeth cleaned. I'm just ducky - except for the itchy tape. |

| | I'm allergic to adhesive tape. They have to use other kinds or I break out into an AWFUL rash. Hopefully, that's not what's causing your itch! |

| | I have friends that are allergic to tape, and it's hard to believe how bad the rash can be. My friend got a skin infection after her c-section because she had developed an allergy to the tape.
I'm not allergic - it's just so much tape and the machine is pulling it down and its annoying and itchy. It'll be all better when they take it off.
I was thinking about you and wondering if latex/adhessive allergies went hand in hand. |

| | I had a weird reaction to the bandaid last time I gave blood, but then, the needle had slipped and I ended up with a hematoma. I think the overly injured tissues just couldn't handle the bandaid on top of everything else.

| | Wormie,
Marissa had a bad skin reaction to the tape after her surgery last spring. It was horrible. Once we figured it out, she healed up right away.
Does the tape have latex in it? You might be allergic!!

| | I don't think I have any latex problems, and I didn't have a rash or anything. It was just SOOOO much take holding up these heavy wires, and it was pulling. It was itchy and uncomfortable, but as soon as it came off everything was fine. |

| | I hope you're doing better today!
I'm allergic to latex and have problems with the adhesive on some bandaids, even the non-latex one. My rashes aren't usually too bad though. Right now I've got a patch on my arm for my physical therapy stuff that itches a little. It's latex-free, but I'm sure I'll have a bit of a rash from it when it comes off this afternoon.
I feel your pain (and itchyness)!

| | Thanks, Max!
It was better immediately upon ripping all that tape off! I have one area that is a bit irritated today. Perhaps I am a bit sensitive to the adhesive. When I had the skin graft, I found that I had a lot of itching with the bandaids too (but it itched without the bandaids, too - just differently).
I'm back to normal - well, as close to normal as I get. |

| | Good to hear! It may be sensitive from ripping it off as much as the adhesive itself too. I know I'm going to have problems getting mine off, it's stuck on so good. There was a little piece of the paper they left on at one end to keep it from sticking down, but it fell off either while I was sleeping or in the shower this morning, so now it's basically all stuck down and I can't seem to get any of it up at all. If anybody hears crying at 4:00 this afternoon, it's me having my patch ripped off.

| | There has got to be a better way to remove tape without so much pain!
Mine didn't hurt, but it left so much glue, and that never comes off easily with soap. I rubbed it off and it eventually feels like you rub the skin off.
I wonder if you can use some sort of lotion to loosen it up. |

| | I'm hoping I can try to use something or that it'll come up easier once I get it started. From the way things feel right now, I may actually have to have one of my co-workers pull it off for me. Talk about team-building!

| | I'm glad you are better Wormie. I remember Marissa's reaction. It was bubbly and draining. Itching and a mess. We got it cleared up fast tho.
I am allergic to latex--and guess what? Latex is used in some bras. I have to be careful of what my bras are made of!!!

I think my co-worker just got some kind of sick pleasure in pulling my patch off. But at least it was quick. Youch.
