Sick?

I'm tired. I've gone to bed early almost every day this week. I've over slept in the mornings. I've been taking naps. My body aches all over.

I have no other symptoms... no runny nose, no vomitting, etc.

Is this really just the change of seasons doing this to me or could it be more? I've been like this for at least a week already.

I'm not depressed. I'm not just "tired" to get out of doing something. I'm genuinely drained.

I'm afraid to say it because I think some will jump to the "aha, there's the cause of your problems" whether it is or not -- but I did get the flu shot last week, around the start of all of this. I did have a reaction to the shot I think too. My upper arm had several painful bumps -- at and around the injection site.

I've not been taking anything for this other than pain reliever since I wasn't sure what to take. Is there an herb or something? This sucks.

Re Sick?

The good news is that if this is a reaction to the flu shot, it should go away very soon. My blood sugar spiked for a couple of days after mine and my arm hurt. I'm all better now.

One other thing you need to very seriously consider is whether there is any possibility of Carbon Monoxide exposure. What is your heat source at home? At work? Is there any possibility of a problem with your car's exhaust system.?

Re Sick?

Oil at home. Have a carbon monoxide detector at home.

Not sure what the heat is at the mall but I'm only there like 15 hours a week.

My real job is oil too, and it does have problems. I should ask our OSHA person if we have a carbon monoxide detector.

I do feel like I'm being gassed actually when I drive my car. I always felt like that in my mom's car too. I did just realize the other day that I've been putting on the defroster in the AM and forgetting for days that it's been put on. I've found I can't regulate the heat in the car properly, and I feel like I can't breathe. The other day I turned off the defroster and it was like a breath of fresh air! Same thing in my mom's car the other day. I started getting light headed so I asked her to turn off the defroster.

You do bring up a very good point. So, how would I know if I was being exposed to carbon monoxide in the car? It's a year old car with no visable damage. I can't remember any traumas to the car that could have compromised the exhaust. Mom's car is at least a dozen years old and both of us have always felt like we were suffocating in that car and the one she bought after it. We attributed it to being Hondas. My new car is a Subaru, so we started thinking it's Japanese cars. I never had it in my Jetta.

Do I bring it in when I get the oil changed and say "test it for carbon monoxide too?"

Re Sick?

Muffler problem could cause exhaust to go into the air intake in the car, and is easily checked.
