So you need some motivation?
Saw this quote today and thought it made some sense:

My advice would be not to think about motivation. Instead, just schedule workouts. Find something you enjoy - maybe going to a gym would be better than working out at home. For me, if I go straight to the gym from work it's a lot easier for me than if I go home first. Make them appointments that you have to stick to. Say at 6 pm on Mon, Wed, and Fri you will workout. End of story. Do this for a month and you won't be thinking about motivation anymore.

And this one:
Quote:
A trick I used when I started was a deal I made with myself - I HAD to dress for the gym and make it to the gym floor. I gave myself permission to turn around and leave once I got there, but I HAD to get there, no matter HOW crummy or not into it I felt.
I think I've turned around and gone home twice in four and a half years.
No guilt when I needed to, though. I dressed. I got there. My obligation to myself had been met. |
and one more:
Quote:
One method that works well for a lot of people is to make doing something you want to do contingent on having completed something ...e.g. you can't have dessert until you've done the washing up;
you can't sit down and read the magazine you bought until you've done X. So, you don't do such and such until you've completed your weights session. Best to make it something you really want, so as to not sabotage this process.

Maybe there is a little something in there to get us moving during the cold winter months. I know I just want to be home and warm all of the time. Don't make me go anywhere in the dark! But since I've made exercise a habit I can get there. I get it done just like any other chore and sometimes I even like it!
Today is something new: hills. Switching things up really keeps me wondering what will happen next and keep away the boredom.
