The Nike iPod Sport Kit and Shoe? It's pretty cool. I'm hoping someone has heard of it, because I'm interested in using it walking if I can verify it works. |

#1 was drooling over this earlier. I want to know why attach it to a running shoe- why is that better than simply taking your ipod with? Remember- speak slowly and use small words because I am not the geek.  |

You do take your iPod with. This turns your iPod into a dual function machine - music player and pedometer/run tracker thingie. |

Yup, it's a good tracker for your workout. It'll let you know how much time/distance you've gone and how much you have left. I haven't heard much about them, but it looked pretty cool. Pricey, but cool. I think I'll just stick with my plain ipod though.

I believe it also helps to select the music based on the rythym of your walk or run. You also don't need the more expensive shoes to use it. You can buy the sensor and ipod and attach the sensor to other shoes.

Jackie loves the Ipod/Nike combo but hates the actual Nike shoes. Says they are not good for runners. She runs marathons though. Maybe for the average runner or walker those shoes would be good.
But even better would be to adapt them to your own shoe of choice.

The kit with any shoes is made by someone else, its a hack of this kit. You'd have to buy both. |
