| | Monday Weigh In - 10/15 | | Can you relate, Janice?
I've been on an Oprah chanelling hiatus, leaving the daily threads in Cyndi's capable hands.
But, I absolutely had to jump in and start today's Loosah's thread (scroll down to find out why? ).
So, you loosahs, loosettes and goalies... how goes your conquest of the calorie, your fight against fat, your stand against sugar?
Sara

| | After hitting a nearly month long weight plateau, I finally did it! I dropped 3.5 pounds!
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Oh wait, that was yesterday's thread. Whatever.

| | Yea Sara!
I am quite impressed. Although, after the stepping week you've had, I'm not at all surprised.
Speaking of not at all surprised, guess what.
I stayed the same this week!!!
Yeah, yeah, that's good, whatever. However, I've been at the same weight since *$^*%$# August 31! It's getting pretty frustrating.
I suppose I could be watching my diet better. Maybe that will be my goal for this week.

| | LOL! Yes I can!
Except not today. Today's sweepstakes in the pants department are tight
I don't understand it either since this pair definitely wasn't this tight last time I wore them (I'm not wearing black so I can confidently tell you I am wearing a specific pair). How can two pairs have gotten looser and one tighter?
I'd blame the dryer but I hang dry all of them.
I was all set to go shopping either at lunch or after work but now I'm in a lousy mood and really unsure how much clothing I need. I guess I'll have to try it all on now
Anyway, I did weigh myself and somehow I seem to have managed to gain 3 pounds since Friday!?!
On top of it all, I have to go back to work today and I really don't feel like I got a lot of benefit from my week off in terms of feeling less stressed out about work. Just the thought of work is making me tense. Even though I don't have an explicit deadline for anything I can just feel the next one looming whatever it might be
Today is not a good morning.

| | The sunglasses in the message icon are not for the usual "cool" reasons. They are there to hide my identity. I am a bad, bad girl.
First of all, to go strictly by scale, I am up 4 pounds. Yes, I'm retaining, and no, I'm not taking my dandelion, so I'm not sucidal or anything. I didn't really gain 4 pounds.
However, I'm hiding my identity because I've been eating like a horse and there is probably real gain in there. I'm probably at net nothing gain or loss since I started posting to the thread. Don't even bother posting sympathy and or encouragement. If I really wanted to lose weight, I'd be trying a wee bit harder, yes?
Now, onto the Queen of Discipline, the Queen of Steppers and the Queen of Weight Loss: GO SARA!!!!
I've been so frustrated for you (taking my frustration out by eating, obviously ).... I'm so happy that you get to see some results on the scale!!
Janice and I will just be sitting over here in the corner watching you lose weight. Janice, don't let the pants thing get you down. Who can explain stuff like that? No one. Just keep on keepin' on!
Andrea

| | Well, my blood sugar is back down to acceptable levels, my blood pressure is under control once again, and I only gained back 3 of the 5 pounds I dropped last week. It was nice while it lasted, AND I'm reallly not too unhappy, because without the diuretics I'm down 2 real pounds in 2 weeks.
Gotta get my sneakers on and go steppin.

I forgot it was Monday. So, after eating my dinner and drinking an enormous cup of green tea, I am down by...

| | | Amazing thing is that I went by a Honey Baked Ham store that had just opened up and didn't get a sammich. God, how I love honey baked ham.
Tomorrow, well, okay. I'll do a long long walk and EARN it.
I also found Sammy's Lebanese cafe while they rebuild the burned-down location on Richmond. I think I will go there for lunch later in the week. Oh, and Amy's Ice Cream. And the Bubba Buffalo Burger Shack I walked by...
Sheesh. Just when I find my food groove again, I don't feel hungry at all. |

| | Weigh in at the Trad meeting today. Results (in normal clothes, sans belt and pedometer):
Down 1.4 for a grand total of down 27 lbs. since May 22.
Woo-hoo!
In our meeting today, our leader talked about successes...and the first thing she said (as I was waiting to be weighed in) was "How many of you feel like a failure when you don't lose weight every week?"
Almost everyone (including me) raised their hands. So the next 1/2 hour became a discussion on the different things we have done that are successful lifestyle changes that make us feel good even when we DON'T show the number down on the scale.
One girl said she CHOSE a salad instead of french fries when she went out to dinner.
One woman (who was on her first week) said she was finding herself grabbing carrot sticks instead of the kid's leftover cookies for an afterschool snack (we then digressed into low-point snacks, like pre-portioned cereal, graham crackers, pretzels, etc.,)
We had lots of stories like these. It was very uplifting!
Lynn

One itsy, bitsy question... What's a trad?
Sara
Not up on her WW terminology

| | trad = traditional (as opposed to "at work" meeting, which is what I usually attend)
OOPS cardinal sin of using unfamiliar terms with the audience. 50 lashes with a WW journal.

| | Lynn,
you have to beat yourself with a complete and honest food journal in order to get the full effect
Well, at my "trad" meeting I was lucky enough to
MAINTAIN!!!
Boy was I ever glad. Imagine my humiliation had I to go and turn in my "goalie" status here at EA.
We take our small victories wherever we can...
