| | weight loss for two weeks | | 2 pounds.
I even took my log in with me, to show off. And discovered that I lost nearly nothing. You could sneeze and lose that much. I am feeling sorry for myself, I know, but dang!
The doc is going to have me come back in after my two weeks of prednisone (read "fat-making pills from hell") and test my thyroid again. I am going to go buy myself a good book and pout. |

| | Re weight loss for two weeks | | I'm disappointed because when I lost so much weight before, I lost between 10 and 12 pounds a month. I was under my doctor's supervision, and he read every sinle line of my food log. He gave me lots of good tips, and it worked really well. I even kept it off until my brain injury. I was hoping for a bigger loss this time, too, I guess. |

| | Re weight loss for two weeks | | Are you doing any particular kind of program?? Two weeks on prednisone isn't going to help your diet. Just be aware and try to nibble on veggies etc, so it doesn't mess you up too badly.

| | Re weight loss for two weeks | | I bought a fridge full of carrots, celery, etc. But I also bought tuna, bread, etc. My blood sugar gets totally messed up when I am taking prednisone- and he gave me a high dose this time. Bleah. |

| | Re weight loss for two weeks | | I think you're doing great!
I would be thrilled with a pound a week.
It's not going to come off fast, but it's coming off!

| | Re weight loss for two weeks | | Crisis here. I've had to suspend my WW membership until I get off of Coumadin or until I can come with a plan (point system) that incorporates very little vitamin K. One doctor said no green vegetables at all while another says to limit it and to eat the same amount every day. Then he said it's easier just to eliminate vegetables along with some other high vitamin K foods.
Losing weight this way is not going to be easy. |

| | Re weight loss for two weeks | | no vegetables?
Right now you need the Coumadin more than you need to lose a few pounds, but that stinks! |

| | Re weight loss for two weeks | | Sandy, ask him for a referral to a dietician. ALL vegetables aren't a concern. Leafy green vegetables are, as well as some legumes. My dad is just coming off a 6-month coumadin stint. If you remove ALL vegetables, odds are you'll end up with some dietary deficiency along the way. |

| | Re weight loss for two weeks | | True...I had wonderfully sweet, sweet corn on the cob tonight. But we always ate salads (with leaf lettuce) and cooked greens like escarole. Mainly green leafy vegetables and beans of all kinds. I even need to watch tomatoes but can have yellow squash. The doctor also said to limit vitamin A and E but not to the extent of the K. He recommended a multi B vitamin to replace my regular daily vitamin.
Adjustments...I'll just keep trying to get a workable mix. A dietician is a good idea though and I think I'll check it out. It's hard to know what combinations of foods that I'm allowed that will lead to loss. I am maintaining right now though. That's better than a gain. | | |
