| | You post here, you make us worry about you, you poo-poo our suggestions to just get it checked out, and then you get upset that we're trying to scare you?!
Go. to. the. doctor.
And the added bonus is the doctor may well tell you "it's just a muscle" and may say "no problem, play in the next game." Then you can go on with your life and not worry. Or he may tell you something else. But why sit and worry about if it's broken, if you should play, etc. Just go to the doctor. |

| | Sigh....well, I certainly didn't mean to worry anyone. I mean, if it is broken, it's just an eeny-beeny hairline fracture, which is not life-threatening or anything. And I"m a weenie when it comes to the doctor anyway, I don't like to go in for every little thing.
But it is still hurting when I move it certain ways. So I will call them tomorrow and see if they want to see me. I promise.

| | I've come to the conclusion Lynn that sometimes the doctor is a necessary evil. I hate to call too, but there comes a time when you just have to.
Let us know how you make out tomorrow as soon as you can.

| | You know, Ladies, we went about this all wrong.
What we should have said was...
"Lynn, it would be tragic if it's broken and you don't get it to heal correctly. It might cause you pain and interfere with your wire work".
That would get her to the doc in about... a minute. |

| | Okay, I went to the PA.
First off, not broken. Sprained rotator cuff. Doesn't look torn (thank God) and he gave me instructions to take some super-duper ibuprofen and do some stretches. If that doesn't work, then I have to do PT (but I'm not anticipating it.) NO VOLLEYBALL this week. He said I need to "coach" and not play.
I've never met this PA before, and when he first came in the room, he looked at me with his eyebrows raised and asked if I was into some kind of extreme sports life or something. See, the last time I was in the doc's office was when I got hit with the hockey puck in the ankle (also an Xray to rule out potential break) and he didn't know if I was playing or watching.
Still hurts, BTW.

Hope it gets well soon. Tell the family it hurts too much for you to do housework.

Dan has really been a sweetie, but when I told him it was a sprain, he said "Oh that's nothing!" and laughed. I think my milking days are over.

| | Hubby's done something to his shoulder/rotator cuff (overworking on weightlifting) and hasn't given it enough rest. (He's been in pain for 8 weeks now. I say, "Call the doctor." He says, "Yes, you're right, I should." And then he doesn't. ) Anyway, if the doc says "rest it," then REST IT.

| | Glad it's "just" a sprain. But... do take it seriously. The exercises should help! I'm glad you're taking care of yourself. |

| | It feels a LOT better today. But I am taking it easy. Luckily, I have a really good book (from Eris's stash - Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil) that I'm engrossed in, so I am not doing repetitive jewelry making for a couple of days.
And my sister's in big trouble. My mom called last night to see if my arm was broken, and I told her to tell Les to go read the thread. (I guess it could be worse...it could be my MOM reading the thread! )

| | I'm glad it's not broken, but I'm also glad you got it checked so you know not to hurt it worse by milking or playing volleyball.
