| | Dermatologist vs. podiatrist | | Either a plantar wart, or a bad callous that's getting annoying and possibly painful - dermatologist or podiatrist?

| | Re Dermatologist vs. podiatrist | | You can go either way with this, but I bet you can get an appointment faster with a podiatrist.

| | Re Dermatologist vs. podiatrist | | My daughter had a plantars wart that occurred while she was under a dermatologist's care for acne, so he handled it.
And he did a fine job.
My one concern about a podiatrist is that I'm not sure if they've covered under every medical insurance plan--or at least they used not to be.
Insurance plans may be more enlightened now. |

| | Re Dermatologist vs. podiatrist | | my insurance plan has never had a problem with the podiatrist doing medically necessary stuff. Where you run into trouble is if the podiatrist is trimming nails, etc (may be medically necessary), but doesn't document so that the insurance company acknowledges the need. Podiatrists have gotten much more savvy about documentation as the insurance companies have gotten more picky.
