Man, you're not going to make me come all the way out to that part of the US are you? I mean really, I want to visit but there are much better ways! I'm telling you right here and now though that if I have to grab Sara and the two of us need to drag your 22 year old ass to that appointment - I am just the lunachick to do it!
Oh, and if you need any other support (of which I will surely not post here) mwa ha ha ... let me know and I'll drop you an email. *e v i l grin*
Shannon ... I'll be thinking of you sista friend. Man, I just can't seem to stop that evil grin from spreading across my face.

| | Hey! I was all set to go tomorrow.
However, if I can make both Shannon and Sara visit me, I may have to reconsider!

| | Just so's everyone knows...
I did go have my mammogram today (as usual the doctors and such were running behind ) and didn't get home 'til almost 5. Then of course, I had to run around making dinner and taking the kids to the annual holiday school fair.
Phew! Just got settled!
But of course, Cindy couldn't wait.
I already told her how it went...privately...
Mwhaaaaahhaaahahaa.
You'll have to imagine for yourself the time I had.

Cindy | Better not go there, Cindy. Cause if they have to make the trip I'm coming too. Pocket knife and all. |

| | Cyndi, I hope all went well, especially result-wise. I channeled your way today.
Cindy, My alarm is reset for tomorrow, but I'll be in class so it's on vibe. It's my immensely boring French advanced grammar class so I definitely will have the brain power to multi-task.
I hope "the girls" are ready to go!

Cindy | Oh no missy, it's not gonna work that way! Besides, which way would ya rather see us, dragging yer little behind in to the booby squashing place (can you tell I haven't had one yet?) or just on a whim simply 'cause girls just wanna have fun?
I thought so!
Besides, I'm with everyone else here, Cin. I'll be thinking of you and the girls tomorrow. Wait! That didn't come out exactly as I had intended! Err, my thoughts will be with you? Yeah, yeah, that's what I meant!
Seriously, got my watch set to take a pause at work and gaze off into the snow-filled sky with thoughts of you. On that you can be sure. *HUG*

| | It's Today! It's Today! | | If I've followed Cindy's breadcrumbs clues correctly her mammogram is today at high noon.
We can't all be there, but here's what I propose:
At the stroke of 12 Cindy time (EST) ...
Grab a boobie*, preferably your own, and sing:
Shazam! Cindy's having a Mammogram!
As I hold my teat so tight
I wish with all my might,
That Cindy's test goes quick and well,
and that she's wearing a bra with tassles and bells
This thing she does is for her own good,
even if she rather would
stay at home and hide away
wasting her time surfing on e-bay.
*Male supporters may make appropriate boobie substitutes.

Thanks , Shannon.

Katherine, I am now going to hve the most 'interesting' mammogram ever- I won't be able to stop laughing long enough to hold still! That is too funny - I never knew you were so talented! Someone call Mrs. Norman Maine, a good librettist is hard to find!

Katherine, that was amazing! I'm going to be laughing all day.
Ok Cindy, here's your purse and car keys. Don't let the door hit you in your butt on the way out the door.
You'll be fine. Promise.
I've had one and still retain my boobies.

| | Yay boobies! I love the song...we are getting soooo creative in our support system here.
Now it's my turn. I was supposed to have one done in September (uh, actually August). I'm not frightened to get one done (my biggest issue is that I'm so short that I have to stretch on my toes to get it in there, no matter HOW they rearrange things!), it's just a time factor. This fall was so nutso with all the moving at work that I just ran out of time.
I'll make the appointment today. I'm on vacation the week between Christmas and New Year's and that will be a perfect time.
Lynn
(Giving hugs and good vibes to Cindy...she's gonna feel so squished at noon EST from all her virtual hugs that she won't even feel that machine!)

| | Yep, this support system is definitely underwire, wide strap, and non-stretch.
One more hug for Cindy, but I'll be darned if I'll go through that ceremony. Well, maybe the singing part....

| | Don't worry, it'll be OK, we're all with you in spirit...
Not having had a mammogram yet (too young for SOMETHING, LOL!), I can only share a south-of-the-border giggle.
I have a strange sense of humor which usually works overtime on puns regardless of what I'm doing or where I am. I also like to go to GYN appointments early in the day to get them over with quick. So early one day, with my feet in the stirrups, my pun-brain kicked in and I burst out laughing. When the doctor asked what was so funny, I started to sing:
"Nothing could be finer than a hand in my vagina in the moooooooooorrrrr-ning!!!"
Thank God the doctor had a good sense of humor. The people in the waiting room did look at me funny when I came out - turns out they could hear us laughing all the way out there.
Now I have a doctor who has a poster of the painting Water Lilies tacked on his ceiling for his patient's enjoyment(?) during the exam. When it was time for the feet to go in the stirrups last exam I said "Oh, you want to show me the Monet?" (get it - "show me the money," groan....)
I don't know if the doctors hate it or love it when I show up.
BEST OF LUCK CINDY, I'll be in class at noon but I'll still grab my girls and belt out the song for ya!

I had my first one in my early 30's because we found a teeny tiny lump in my annual. They mammo'd me to see just what it was.
So :p
I love the Monet story...reminds me of the old "Wanna come up to my apartment and see my etchings" line.

who did indeed send good vibes but did not belt out a song since I would have had to translate it into French
