| | Re How to Create and Edit Your Hideaway | | Your timing blows I am shortening the names of the hideaway forum. Until I get them all shortened, some people can't edit.

| | Re How to Create and Edit Your Hideaway | | IS there a thread I missed that details who can join (as in EArs only, or also outsiders); what amount of space is allotted, if any for attachments or uploads, etc? I'd hate to start one and overload your server or something! lol |

If you can get them to register at EA and join your hideaway, go for it. There are no quotas at this point except an attachment quota that we've never bumped into. If you plan on doing an attachment heavy forum, please talk to me first and we'll work out the details.
As far as posts and threads, I think we can set an agreement now that if you get more than 20,000 posts in your forum, we'll either start pruning older posts or it we'll work something else out.
Amy

| | Re How to Create and Edit Your Hideaway | | I have a yahoo group with 396 members. We've been looking for a new solution - everyone hates yahoo groups. (It started out as an egroup, which we loved, then yahoo sucked egroups into the yahoo morass)
I'd have to a) see how many posts we've done over the course of four years - I think we're still well under 20,000 and b) talk to my co-owner to see if she thinks this would work. Of course that means she'd have to sign up for EA to check us out......
I'm pretty sure we average 100 - 200 posts a month, but I'm NOT sure if it's because yahoogroups is so hard to use for some people with all the forced ads, etc or because we don't talk much - lol |

| | Re How to Create and Edit Your Hideaway | | I'll talk to Alex. She's a lot of fun, so she'd probably enjoy EA anyway if she has time to add another internet time sink to her list of activities (she works for National Geographic - busy busy). And she'd give the politic afficionados a run for their money.... lol |

| | Re How to Create and Edit Your Hideaway | | Ok, now I see my hideaway forum, but I still can't change the name. Am I doing something wrong? I'm trying to set it up so that when Alex is free I can send her here and have her "test" it to see if she likes this solution...
And it would be a private forum, Amy - non-searchable by google, invisible to non-forum members. Although that means I have to find a way to direct people to it....
