Shake More from the "where do they come up with it" files

The other night it rained after the kids went to sleep. I was telling them the next morning how much it had rained and told them, "It poured buckets!" Erin asked me, "You mean it poured buckets of cats and dogs?"

****
A couple of days ago we were in the car and Erin asked me how you get the leaves off of trees - do you use scissors? (A question in its own right!) Sean told her, "No, you have to have a special kind of scissors. I think they're called 'spears.'"

****
Today in the car, Erin asked if 22 + 22 = 44. "Yes, honey." "So, does onety-one plus onety-one equal twenty-two?" (Don't worry if you don't get it, I didn't either - it took hubby to figure that one out!)

****
After that mathmatical puzzler, she then asked me, "Does my brain in my head wear clothes?"

KIDS!!!

Oh Melanie, I got the onety one thing That's because before I learned addition, I swore 1+1=11. It worked in my head anyway.

How old is Erin? Sounds like she's adorable and VERY smart. I'm sure that her brain does wear clothes!

Erin just turned 4 a couple of weeks ago - and Naomi, hubby would take your comment as a big compliment! And yep, Margaret, Erin used to swear up and down a few months ago that 1 + 2 = 12.

(Shhhhh....she can actually do some math problems faster than her big brother! I don't make a big deal of it in front of them, but in my head I just have to laugh sometimes!)
