| | Monkey had to speak at church Sunday for Pastor Appreciation Sunday. On the road yesterday we wrote what she wanted to say about each of the three pastors in index cards.
It was so funny when she got up there. She walked up to the stage with her index cards and baby. She had Gigi, the girl who was in charge of everything, lower a music stand so she could use it as a podium. Then she took her microphone. She read her cards (folks were shocked that she could read). She laughed when the audience laughed. Then Gigi made a mistake -- she asked Monkey if she had anything else to say.
"Oops I forgot my book" She had gotten a devotional from the foyer. She had wanted to read from the book.
Gigi got her to say a few more things to the pastors "My Sunday school class made some thing for the pastors. It's over there. Thank you pastors"
But Monkey wouldn't leave the stage or give up her microphone.
So I went up to get her
"BUT I'M NOT DONE TALKING YET"
I reminded her that there was snack in Children's church room. So she came with me and down the hall. I know next time she's on stage to have a vaudeville crook to pull her off stage with. She did admit on the way home that she would still be talking now if we didn't get her.
One lady afterwards wants to get Monkey into public speaking now saying she's a natural. Few others picture her as a preacher.
I learned at Chinese class that November 17 is a talent show. We are going up on stage to sing songs and dance with our class. (I'm in first grade -- my class mates are 5 1/2 to 7 years old -- I'm the tall one) Monkey and hubby are so excited to see it. I think I'm coming down with plague that day. As it was this week and next are parent teacher conferences. I asked my teacher if a husband could replace a parent.

Now Monkey is in the living room going "daddy daddy daddy . Pants me. Pants me. pants me." Why do I think I'll be getting a call from school this week? |

| | How cute!
I think that its great that she has no fear of public speaking. This will come in very handy later in life. She sounds adorable! |

And that 'monkey' - 'ham' ... 'ham' - 'monkey' dichotomy is kinda interesting also...:-)

To make it worse -- lately we've been calling her "Monkey Goose"
The Worm
Thanks! |

| | How delightful!
Do you have any local children's theater groups? It sounds like she'd be a natural.
(And--did the teacher say your husband could come for conferences?)

| | You have the cutest daughter!
You know, if the Poopster doesn't mind older women, we should get those two together - then in our old and gray years we can all go into sugar shock listening to stories about THEIR impossibly cute kids!

| | Bridgette--
She said he could come -- but the conference would be in Chinese only. So he passed.
Em--
I think it would be fun just to get all of us together. I'm sure our kids would be able to tell some of the most interesting stories. |

| | Wow, sounds like Monkey Girl has grown up quite a bit since I met her when you came down to visit your in-laws.
Who would think that the queen of the McDonald's gym equipment would become, in two short years, an accomplished public speaker!
All as a result of your good parenting, of course | | |
