But... and this is the Dad in me talking, because my daughters do this also... Ack! He's lifting them over his head! Perhaps I'm too neurotic.

Heh. At least he's on the STEPS of the stepper, not the very tip-top heights of the thing.
Biggest heart attack Erin's given me - she was all of a year and half, approximately, when she climbed the whole stair stepper assembly to the very top, whereupon she perched upon the monitor readout thingy. Ours is a big Sears model, with these huge sweeping handle bars that go up and around the center shaft. She went all the way to the top of the center shaft and sat down, hands on the handles on either side of her, looking around like, "Okay, I got up here, now what do I do?!"

Oh, and - don't sweat the PJ's thing - my kids never match when they're at home. And if hubby dressed them to go out, they'd never match then, either!

I let my daughters dress themselves and I catch flak from the wife about it.
Sure, she lets them dress themselves, too, but she often "guides" them. Alas, I am more hands-off when it comes to fashion.
