It scans and reads text for people who have trouble either reading or comprehending text. I got a Franklin catalog and it was recommending them for kids who need test directions read aloud to them. You can use it with headphones for privacy and prevention of distracting people around you. This would allow students to work independently instead of having to wait for a teacher or aide to read things to them.
They also have a version that is just for taking notes, and 6 different language translation versions.
