| | Tattoo will be one. In three months, I know, but I have to schedule her pictures early since we do a big to-do for one year portraits and I want to make sure I have the stuff in time so I'm not racing around at the last second like I was with Bug.
We will do a family picture at the same time, so I'm thinking sailor dress. I love sailor dresses.
Problem is, I can't choose one (no, moms of boys, they are NOT all alike).
So, help please. |

| | Re Help Me Choose a Dress | | The hat for number three is better, but I like the sleeves, bow, and the pantaloons on two.

| | Re Help Me Choose a Dress | | I like #2. I actually like the first one best, but it looks way too "old" for a one year old, IMO. So #2 it is.

| | Re Help Me Choose a Dress | | Navy doesn't always look good on babies and at one, she's still a baby to me. I do like the sleeveless one best #3 but thought sleeveless might be a bit old or cold depending on the weather. So I vote for #3 and #2 |

| | Re Help Me Choose a Dress | | See, I'm not totally sure of the white. That's my whole issue.
All my kids have dark hair and eyes, but she is PALE. I'm afraid the white might wash her out, especially in a familiy picture with EVERYONE in white then. |

| | Re Help Me Choose a Dress | | I think the navy dress would just become a dark area without definition. I guess that's what you think the white dresses will do. Can you ask the photographer?

| | Re Help Me Choose a Dress | | If your photographer knows what s/he is doing, white clothes on a white background is one of the best family photos you'll ever get.

| | Re Help Me Choose a Dress | | My stepfather is a professional photographer. I asked him, if a family of dark haired, dark skinned people were coming in for a portrait and mom was choosing between navy and white sailor dresses for the one year old, what would he do? (He keeps a dressing room at his studio and requires people to bring several outfits for family portraits, but that is just him)
His advice: White or peach. Pinks, maybe. Yellows, oranges and navys wash out olive skin tones.
His other advice: ask to see your photographers samples of family portraits done in white clothing on a light background. If they don't look amazing (and he says they should), find another guy. |
