ARG! Ear Infection?

So the boys both apparently have adenovirus, which means they are walking mucous factories. I woke up this morning with Buster in bed with me crying that his ear hurts.

He had his PE tubes taken out about six weeks ago. At the ENT this week, they checked his hearing (fine), but his tympanogram showed that there are still unhealed perforations from the tubes. His ear seemed a little crusty. Now I have to wait for the ENT office to open to try to get him in, since I don't want to mess with the regular pediatrician's office considering the perforations. Not to mention that the boys have speech therapy this morning and I CAN'T cancel it AGAIN because they've missed three weeks running with SOMEONE sick.

Calgon, take me away. Has anyone else ever had this with their kids after tube removal?

Re ARG! Ear Infection?

Pippa, that's awful. When #1's ear tube fell out, he immediately fell ill with another ear infection. It seemed like his ears drainined for a long time after that, and even six months later you could still see where the ear tube had been.

And poor little Buster- ear infections are just awful.

Re ARG! Ear Infection?

Oy.

Yes, he has an ear infection (they think the pain might have been the pus working through the hole where the tube was...thanks for that visual!) and Bug has an ear infection. And a mild viral pneumonia.

WTF?
