| | what kind of gift ideas do you share with grandparents that are starting shopping now.
They are looking for a 3 1/2 year old or close to it at Christmas time and I am honestly completely blank.
The girl has a library of her own and could start a library system and check them out to the neighborhood children, toys like crazy, and clothes coming out of the dresser drawers.
Any got to have it ideas out there?
I appreciate your time.

I thought about that, but what would be best, dance or music? Gymnastics?
I am so lost.

| | A baby sister, LOL. No, seriously, how about a fish in a fish bowl? My grandson likes to watch his "fat fish", and help feed it and change the water. The little fish tank is made of plastic, and has a lid with air holes in it, that snaps shut over the top of the tank, to keep out those little helping hands.
If you have space in your backyard, and really generous grandparents, would they consider a climber, even a little Tykes one?

I do ask her & she honestly has no clue. I show her dancing, gymnastics, etc on tv, and ask if she would like to have fun in a class that allows her to do any of these fun things.
She will look at the tv, study it for a bit, then look contemplative at the tv and state that she doesn't know.
It's silly.

The baby sibling is tough too. She jokes she wants 10 brothers and sisters. We don't ask that one any more!
I have one of those climbers that I found at Goodwill for 16.00, but cannot get the darn slide to fit into the triangle shape. We have had 4 adults work on this and it just won't happen.

Try watching what she does when she's not asked. When she's playing, does she like to tumble? When there's music on, does she just naturally start moving with the music?

| | She's very young yet. There are years to have lessons of all types. She doesn't know because she doesn't know yet and what you ask has little meaning. Sign her up in something you think she'd enjoy or use that as a gift choice later. My grandmother used to take me shopping for the day and we'd purchase a new dress each year. The day was special. You might try taking her to a toy store and let her wander. I'll bet she'll find something that she'd really like. |

| | You have a lot of good ideas here.
Like someone said, she doesn't have to know what kind of lessons she would want - at her age its almost more about the social part. When I was her age I was taking tumbling and ballet. Does she dance when she plays?
A special day with Grandma and Grandpa is fun too. They could take her to a kids museum or a movie and lunch. |

| | When my kids were her age, we did gymnastics--as a Christmas present. It was wonderful. You just have to make sure you have her in the right age group.
But I agree, she is young to state a preference for anything!!!! Perhaps it is a goog time for the grandparents to start a collection for her--I know someone who gives his neice a Disney snow globe every year. She is 24, and still getting one.

| | Thanks for the great ideas.
I watch the babester and she wiggles, dances, tries to tumble, sommersalts, etc all of the time.
She loves to jump and anything that keeps her moving with music or without.
I will have to do a bit of leg work and check some places out, as the grandparents loved to have specific details of what, where, when and such.
I really appreciate the feedback!
Keep the ideas rolling though if anything else comes to mind!

| | I think I will get it down on the list.
Here's a description of the class that I am thinking she would love.
JitterBugs - (3½ - 4½ years)
This is a high energy class for high energy preschool age kids! This class offers beginning gymnastics and creative theme based lessons plans each week . Each class also includes an age appropriate educational component. Classes are 50 minutes.

| | Grandma really seemed intrigued by it when I advised her of it.
She sounded almost like she wanted to get her joined asap (for the next class "semester" if you will.)
