| | I thought the parents looking for ways to control how much television their kids watch might like this little gizmo I found: Parents Take Back Control Of TV Time |

It has been torture watching the Jazz lose lately, so if I got rid of the TV we at least wouldn't have to see that blood bath and watch the fans make utter fools of themselves. How embarrassing was that?

| | I hate the damn thing. Honestly? If it was up to me? It would live in a closet and I'd take it out to watch Battlestar Galactica and maybe Heroes. The end. G? Has the thing on from the second he wakes up until the second he goes to bed. |

| | I might like to watch TV if I ever got to use the remote. If I have the remote Tucker sits in front of the TV with his hand over the sensor and his finger on the channel buttons. It is just not worth it to me.
(What I really want is my own bedroom with my own TV where I can sit on the bed with my laptop AND lock the door.)

| | LOL. We have a tv in the bedroom. If I'm in bed with my laptop? I'm working. And the tv is off. About the only time it gets used is when I'm sick or one of the kids is sick and we are laying in there resting. |

| | About 2.5 years. Not that I'm counting. We moved the TV from the living room into our bedroom. hate it.

| | We have a TV in the bedroom, but you can't see it from the bed. You have to get up and go down 3 steps to sit in a chair. Comfie chair, but still.
The other bazillion televisions in the house run way too much. Right now there are 2 tuned to the same channel 20 feet apart.
One thing about homeschooling. I get to say "No TV during school hours."
Well, except for Mythbusters sometimes and occasionally the History Channel.

| | Judy. I"m thankful the kids LOVE Discovery Channel and the Science Channel. They would watch things like How It's Made and Building the Ultimate all day if I let them. Big Mythbusters fans as well. |

| | I'm with Pippa. After not having TV at all for 16 years, we got it last summer after getting interested while we were on holiday. Worst mistake ever, I think. The kids went from reading boxes of books every week to arguing (!) about reading books for homeschooling. I am gearing up for a major battle when I put really strict time limits on it. I liked being TV-free so much, even though I didn't realize it at the time. | | |
