The Rock Star Game

This is one of my latest online addictions. The game allows you to assume the identity of a rock star and build your act from scratch. You are given a certain number of points each day, which you can use to tour, practice, record, etc.

The game rewards patience. Everyone gets the same number of points. If you're consistently patient and regularly check the board (takes a couple of minutes a day), you can have fun.

There is also a role-playing (verbal) board there, in which you are welcome to participate assuming your EA reading and posting is done for the day.

You can play in both game (1 and 2), but Game One has been running a long time. I've got great stats there and am only in the top 20,000. Game Two has been up for maybe two months and I've actually been in the Top 500 there on the charts.

If you join, add me to your friends group so I know you're there. I record there under the name of Joubert Vravos.

See you in the studio!

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby

Shoot. I hoped it involved trashing hotel rooms, having wild drunken orgies, and making lots of money to blow on fast cars.

And drugs, MJ. Lots and lots of drugs.

Hey, it's fun to do things in role playing games that you don't get to do in real life.

Actually I'd rather do the drunken orgies. Drugs - nah. Booze and sex.

You know, between this thread and Amy's teacher thread, I'm going to have to start an MJ fan club.

OK, you've both met me, how likely do you think I am to have drunken orgies outside of a video game?

If you were a rock star?

Hm. Dunno.

Just go to the Salvation Army. But, I hear she's got some time off, so right now might not be a great time to stalk her.

Let me know when you're coming to NY, Slick. Perhaps we could do lunch? That is, of course, if you can take time away from chasing after MJ

I used to play at the old location but sort of lost track when they shut down for a while to move over to the new location. Maybe I'll start up again...it definitely was fun.

Yeah, The Salvation Army. Home of drunken debauchery. Our wild staff Christmas party yesterday included prayers, hymns, and eggnog spiked with - gasp! - nutmeg. One of the officers even removed his jacket with the epalauts to serve food. Of course his shirt had epalauts on it so we still knew he was a Major, but still. Stripping! And a few officers said "Merry Christmas" instead of "May God bless you and keep you in His loving arms" or "May you find the peace of Jesus Christ this season." Casual behavior running rampant! Oh, what an exciting time it was. No wonder I had a headache today - too much frivolity, it must have been a hangover from all the fun.

I hate those loose Majors. Perhaps someone will write him up for conduct unbecoming a, um, you know, charity guy.

Officer. Or Ordained Member of the Clergy. (All officers are ordained clergy. Cuts down on what jokes I can tell at the parties, that's for sure.)
