Wink Mystery Book #67

I just finished reading this so the details should be fresh in my mind.

It's a book. And it's not from the American Realism period (everyone can be relieved about that ).

Is it a novel?

Was it first published more recently than 1950?

Was its author born in North America?

If it is a novel, does it have a single main character?

If it is not fiction:

Is it about history?

Medicine?

Another science?

Is it a biography?

If so, does she work in law enforcement?

Medicine?

Education?

Was the book originally published in the last five years?

Does any of it take place in a courtroom?

Does the main character make her living by doing something related to solving crimes?

Is this book part of a series? Are there five or more books in the series?

Wild guess -- is it one of the "Crossword Lady" books?

Are those any good? I've not heard of them before, but I'm always on the look out for something new.

I haven't read them, just heard about them. They did get mixed reviews though.

Is the place that the main character lives an important part of the story?

Does she live in a village? A city? In the country?

Is she elderly? Young? In-between?

Does she carry a gun?

Is the crime in the book a murder or murders?

Does the main character's profession relate to investigating something (other than crime)?

Is the book out in paperback?

Was it a best seller?

Is the particular city important to the series (or could they take place in any city)?

Has she written anything that isn't part of this series?

Did she start writing the series before 1990?

Janice

Is the particular city important to the series (or could they take place in any city)? Yes, the city is important to the series, but most of this book does not take place there.

Has she written anything that isn't part of this series? Not novels. She worked as a journalist for awhile.

Did she start writing the series before 1990? No, at least it wasn't published if she did.

Is the main character a reporter?

Some other media type?

An undertaker?

An athlete?

An airplane pilot?

A race car driver?

Some other transportation provider?

A cheesemaker? (Blessed are the cheesemakers, or so I've heard.)

I'm trying to think of occupations that don't easily spring to mind but, gosh, none are springing to mind.

Is the part of the story that is set in the United States set in the city that is an important part of the series?

Is that city on the Eastern Seaboard?

Is the part of the story that is not set in the United States set in Europe?
