Speaking of TV commercials.....

can someone explain one to me, please. It's for one of those camera cell phones - I think Sprint.

Anyway - the one where the girl is at the lunch counter and calls her friend to say I'm sitting next to your new boyfriend, and mustard face spills his soda and makes a mess and smiles at the camera, and then friend says "I do love my new boyfriend".

Hubby and I laugh whenever we see that one, but I really don't "get it".

And - off topic - is it just me? I HATE the new McDonalds commercials. The new grown up city song makes me sick. I don't eat at McDonalds, but I miss the old, "McDonalds has McBurgers. McDonalds has McFries, McDonalds has McWonderful things for kids of every size...."

Re: Speaking of TV commercials.....

1) Love is blind. The new boyfriend is a classless slob but she loves him anyway.

2) Never heard that "McDonalds has mcfries" song in my life. "Hold the pickles, hold the lettuce" was my fave. And "I'm a Pepper".

So - he really IS the new boyfriend??
And why doesn't he pick up his soda glass after he spills it?

Re: Speaking of TV commercials.....

Because he's an ignorant slob. But she loves him anyway. Go figger.

Don't feel bad, Wormie, I had to watch it several times before I realized that it was her boyfriend and that she like him despite the picture. Sublety is often lost on me.

No, no, no. Didn't you and your girl friends ever point at some freak in the mall and say "that's your boy friend"

Re: Speaking of TV commercials.....

Then why does she say so seriously, "I do love my new boyfriend"? It reminds me of the other one, where the dad takes a picture of his son with the "dip" sign and the wife tells the Sprint guy, "You have to know him," to which the Sprint guy replies sardonically, "I feel like I already do."

See - but I LOVE the Dip commercial! My husband never "got" it, but it cracks me up. I don't get mustard face. I think they're goofing on the guy.

Re: Speaking of TV commercials.....

..
Why is she sitting on the hood of the car (or wherever it is) with the 'phone-company-guy' though ??

Other than the script says it must be so.

Too clever for me. And certainly doesn't 'sell' the product...
