I picked up
The Best of REM 1988-2003 today...been wanting it since I saw it around Christmas time. I'd forgotten how much I like this band.
I'm a sucker for liner notes, and of course

Michael Stipe does not include any lyrics. (Oh, but SURPRISE! there's a blurb on the last page that lyrics are available on
www.remhq.com) But there are some fun stories, like how "What's the Frequency Kenneth" got it's title.
Everybody Hurts is one of the most beautiful, poignant pop songs around. I haven't gotten that far on the disc yet, but I'm anticipating.....
Oh and I've just come back to edit that
At my most beautiful is probably my most favorite, even over "Everybody Hurts". I'd totally forgotten that one.
"Man in the Moon" and "Orange Crush" are just
fun.
Lynn
who should probably write an eps but is just too lazy
