| | My Library Has the "Lemony Snicket" Series on Audio CD | | read by the author.
So far I've heard the first CD of "The Wide Window."
For those of you who like getting your daily dose of gloom in 15 minute commuting segments, I'd highly recommend it |

When I was listening to "The Wide Window" and the Lachrymose Leeches started rising up in the water, I thought, "Yuck!"
But I have listened to James Patterson and Philip Margolin on audio book while driving, and there are far more horrible incidents in them.
I really enjoy audio books. I think it comes with age. Once you need bi-focals or monovision contact lenses, reading is sometimes less enjoyable.
I still read a lot, but am happy to hear a gifted actor or actress do the work for me and give my nearsighted/farsighted/astigmatic eyes a rest. |

I am not sure authors make the best narrators. Yet in some instances they can do justice to their books because they know how they meant it to "sound" to the reader when they wrote it.
