Help country music fans

My mom said I have to hear this lullaby that she thinks is written/sang by Clint Black.

I cannot find anything and would not know where to begin. She thought the title was Lullaby for Lucy.

I haven't been able to track anything down.

Do any of you know what song she might be talking about? I don't regularly listen to country, and I know that I would never stumble across this song.

Re: Help country music fans

Clint Black has a song called Dixie Lullabye, but I don't think that's what mom meant.

There is a "Lullaby for Lucy" which includes the following lyric:

Let all plants and creatures of the valley now
Unite.
Calling a new
Young one to join the celebration.

Rowan and lamb and waters salt and sweet
Entreat the
New child to the brimming
Dance of the valley,
A pledge and a promise.
Lonely they were long, the creatures of Rackwick, till
Lucy came among them, all brightness and light.

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby

Here I thought we were starting a fundraiser to help country music fans... Oh well. Some day there'll be a cure.

If liking country music is wrong, I don't wanna be right...heh.

That sample of "Lullaby for Lucy" made me cry. I must be getting old and hormonal. But, it is so beautiful.

Re: Help country music fans

Thanks!

I haven't had a chance to check out the link George, but I appreciate it.

I talked to mom some more, and she said it was Clint Black. He apparently sang this on Oprah last week, but I still don't know the title. Is that the one that he sang George?

My mom made it sound like it was a new song written for his daughter?

Any Oprah watchers out there that can shed some light?

"Spend My Time" by Clint Black

How Can We Know How Far
The Long Way Can Be
Looking From Where We Are
It Never Seemed That Long To Me
I've Many Miles Behind Me
Maybe Not So Much Ahead
It Seems I Made Good Time
With The Directions I Misread

So I'm Gonna Spend My Time
Like It's Going Out Of Style
I'm Moving The Bottom Line
Farther Then A Country Mile
I Still Have Hills To Climb
Before I Hit That Wall
No Matter How Much I Buy
I Could Never Spend It All

Funny Thing That Time
We're Always Running Out
I'm Always Losing Mine
There's Not Enough Of It About
And Though It's Always Here
It Will Always Come And Go
The Days Become The Years
That'll Be Gone Before You Know

So I'm Gonna Spend My Time
Like It's Going Out Of Style
I'm Moving The Bottom Line
Better Then A Country Mile
I Still Have Hills To Climb
Before I Hit That Wall

I Won't Go Quietly Into That Dark Night
There'll Be No More Buring Daylight
I'll Be Living In
Every Moment That I'm In

Oh I'm Gonna Spend My Time
Like It's Going Out Of Style
I'll Only Use What's Mine
I've Been Saving For Awhile
I Still Have Hills To Climb
Before I Hit That Wall
No Matter How Much I Buy
I Could Never Spend It All

No Matter How Much Time We Buy
We Could Never Spend It All

(That's the song he sang on Oprah)

Re: Help country music fans

Thanks! I will have to talk to my mom. This doesn't really seem like a lullaby. She must be confused!

Re: Help country music fans

It's a really slow country ballad - a true yawner. I dont watch Oprah, so I have no idea if he sang an encore of another song - I got this inof from my mom, the Oprah addict
