Blender's Top 50 Worst Songs of All Time

Apparently, Blender magazine has released their list of the top 50 worst songs of all time. Don't have the whole list available, it's in their May issue and is not on their website, but a few are available via news release:

http://apnews.myway.com//article/200...D822PA800.html

I just gotta say - "Sounds of Silence"? How'd that get on there?!

I think there are some songs much worse than those!
Shall we start our own list?

I'll nominate Marc Anthony's
"I need to know, I need to know, I need to know, tell me, pretty baby, I need to know, I need to know, I need to know".
I wish someone would just tell him so he could shut up!

Re: Blender's Top 50 Worst Songs of All Time

1) "We skinned our hearts and skinned our knees..." The Terry Jacks Family
2) "Every day I sit beside you, on the bus to Madison Avenue work in a big red store, with a revolving door" (the wimpy Air supply version, not the Ian Thomas version, and the name of the song escapes me)
3) "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by that Deep Blue Something group.

Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" (No. 50).
...only would have made me happier if it had been where it really belonged, at #1.

Re: Blender's Top 50 Worst Songs of All Time

The new Limp Bizkit remake of "Behind Blue Eyes" deserves a top ten spot.

But its not as bad as the Chili Peppers' "By The Way". It's getting harder to remember when these guys were good.

Re: Blender's Top 50 Worst Songs of All Time

Okay...I have a few bones to pick with this list.

How the hell is Broken Wings in the Top 20 worst songs ever? And You're the Inspiration is also Top 20 crappiest songs?

Superman by Five for Fighting is considered shit? And The Sound of Silence? What the f*#@!

There are a number of glaring omissions on that list. Here are a few songs that were "snubbed" from the Top 50 worst songs ever....

1.) Mmmm Bop by Hanson.

Seriously, that is easily the WORST song I have ever had the displeasure of listening to. I hate Hanson more than William Hung.

2.) Any song by William Hung

No explanation needed.

3.) "If You Wanna Be My Lover" by Spice Girls.
4.) "Mambo No. 5" by Lou Vega
5.) "Superbowl Shuffle" by the Chicago Bears

It's awful...but sorta catchy.

6.) "I Would Walk 500 Miles" artist unknown
7.) "I Want a New Drug" Huey Lewis and the News
8.) "Macarena" artist unknown
9.) "Pump the Jam"(?) by Technotronic(?)
10.) "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls

Guilty Pleasures (songs I know that ARE bad yet I somehow like them...)
1.) "Everybody have fun tonight" Wang Chung
2.) "Party All the Time" Eddie Murphy
3.) "I would do anything for love (but I won't do that)" Meat Loaf
4.) "Sunglasses at Night" Corey Hart
5.) "Rollin'" Limp Bizkit

Re: Blender's Top 50 Worst Songs of All Time

If it were me making this list, I'd take off "Sounds of Silence" and "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" (the Beatles rock, darnit), and replace them with any two selections from Rod Stewart's repertoire.

Re: Blender's Top 50 Worst Songs of All Time

We went through the list and did our beef. My brother decided that if someone were to compile a CD with all of the "Worst songs", he would buy it.

Seriosuly, I could think of others that need to make the list. Anyone remember "Walk the Dinosaur" from the 80's?

Re: Blender's Top 50 Worst Songs of All Time

"You take my breath away and I don't know what to say, because you take my breath away." I don't know who sang this '70s song but that was a sum total of the lyrics. This should be number #1.
