Missed Years of Friends Before the Finale--Whatever Happened to Rachel's Baby?

I know this seems like a silly question from someone who missed about 5 years of "Friends" in a row, but I do know that Rachel had a baby (and I'm still not sure exactly how the father was.)

Where was this baby when she was getting ready to move to Paris?

I am very mixed up. You can't exactly bring it to a kennel for boarding...

I got teary-eyed, but that could've been just me -- like the characters, I was a twentysomething at the beginning, so I've kind of grown up along with them.

I liked the very end when Chandler said he wanted to go get coffee, but the whole airport thing was too lame for words. How many times have we seen stuff like that before in movies in TV shows. Ugh. I was disappointed that they couldn't have come up with something more original.
