| | Book Club Selections and Selectors | | Hey Gang.
I think that we said that we'd just go alphabetically and let everyone choose a book each month.
I made a list of the current book club members, and here's how the selection process falls out.
If you don't want to select a book, that's ok. If you have a bad month, switch with someone. Just post here and let people know.
If you join the book club after EOE and want to select a book, we'll add you to the list.
Trade, opt in, opt out, read a month, skip a month. Whatever makes everyone happy.

Anyway, Amy would like to trade with Arianej - is that ok? If so, go ahead and select.

Note changes to schedule.
Also note that you can select a book for your month any time. You don't have to wait - books are first come first selected.

| | Re: Book Club Selections and Selectors | | I'm bowing out for now, folks. So far, the books have all been books I own and have read (English/Psych double major and just generally avid reader) and I'm seeking new horizons and new authors right now for my rapidly dwindling free time for reading. Have fun - these have been great selections! |

Just a reminder - Anyone at EA can join or leave the club at any time. Participate during months that you can. Skip months that you can't or choose not to. If you are assigned to select a book for a given month, do so at any time. If you can't participate during your month, trade with someone or let the next person know to choose early.
This is supposed to be fun and informal. Hope we'll all continue to enjoy it!!! |

| | Re: Book Club Selections and Selectors | | A clarification — there are two versions of Speak, Memory:
A. The original edition Speak, Memory AKA Conclusive Evidence
B. The revised version Speak, Memory: An Autobiography Revisited
If at all possible, read the revised Speak Memory: An Autobiography Revisited |

If it's a book, it's ok.

| | Re: Book Club Selections and Selectors | | In all fairness, I'm not trying to be the book club Nazi. Jan did offer a choice. If any of you prefer to read 3 books of Ann Rics's erotica, we can make that the official book club selection. Quote: | jankp said
For next month's book, I thought in honor of Aurora Joy, murasaki's new daughter, that I'd select Mahlon F. Croft and Kinuko Croft's Sleeping Beauty. It's only 32 pages, but has gorgeous paintings and the story is more charming than other versions. Otherwise, there's the Trilogy of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Rice's pen name and it's erotica!

Enjoy for your August 2005 selection! Yes, the version is important, this is the most readily available and most long standing translation of the original tales. |

I found a more fun selection: Gregory Maguire's Leaping Beauty, which has fractured fairy tales that include that of Sleeping Beauty. Should be fun!
