Talking Name That Tune! EA-style, of course

Yesterday was Jeopardy (feel free to keep that game going if you'd like ) and today, I got the idea to try a "Name That Tune" game. We may have to amend the rules as we go along, but here's my first thoughts:

Start out the game with 5 words from the first line of a song. If someone guesses correctly, they can then start the next song. If there are three wrong guesses, add 5 more words to the clue.

For a bonus round (the person who is starting the round can determine if it's going to be a bonus round or not ), pick 5 consecutive words from anywhere within the song.

No Googling allowed! And if you are picking, try not to pick something so freaking obscure that no one will get your song.

I'll start us out with the first 5 words:
In the day we sweat it

Name That Tune!!!!

Re: Name That Tune! EA-style, of course

Side note: This is a lot harder than jeopardy!!! I'm really good at the "real" version of Name that Tune, I can usually do it in a couple of notes. Just the words without any music is HARD!!!

For some reason, Leslie's clue sounds like a Doors tune, but I don't know which one. Count it as 1/2 a guess.

Re: Name That Tune! EA-style, of course

You'll never guess what I heard on the way home from work today.

Okay, we always called it "Big Ten Inch" but I believe the real name of the song is "Mean Woman Blues" ...version I heard was Aerosmith.

(Doors was sort of close, doncha think????)

Lynn, I really need to keep my brain occupied, and I really need a hint, so help me out here. A good hint or something less obscure would help.

Re: Name That Tune! EA-style, of course

Hm. Well, it might be too obscure, but I really love the song. It's "I Believe In Love" by the Dixie Chicks.

I'm ammending the rules to be the first line instead of the first five words. I can do that, can't I?

New song for today so we don't kill the game:

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday

Go for it.
