| | Dead Like Me Showtime Series | | The new season starts next week.
Is anyone as excited as I am to finally have this one back?

| | Re: Dead Like Me Showtime Series | | Kim and Hy, what did you think of the first episode this season? To me, the episode was not like a season premiere. Nothing big happened. Just the same, good show as always. But, I got to thinking about some things.
1. Where does Rube get his money? And Daisy too?
2. What do the reapers who work do for ID? Do they have mob connections of some kind to get them fake social security cards?
Things like this can really blow my mind; so I hope the series writer explains them soon.

Money, good question.
The season opener was a bit odd in the normal sense of season openers. But, considering you have to be a bit warped to really enjoy the darkness of this series, nothing surprises me.
I felt that the birthday thing was a hard way to go. What a memory for the little tyke.

| In either the first or second episode of the first season, Rube takes George to a government office (the Department of Motor Vehicles?) where she’s given a variety of identification documents by an employee who’s a grim reaper. |

| | Re: Dead Like Me Showtime Series | | I knew I should have watched these when they replayed the series in the last couple of months.
I forgot about that. It makes sense, though. Now, how do they make their money?
I recall one episode where the reaper was learning how to forge a signature for an elderly woman that he had just come to get. She was leaning over his shoulder telling him how to do it. Maybe this is how Rube & Daisy get their money?

| | Re: Dead Like Me Showtime Series | | Unlike agnostic me, the reapers all know there's a higher power. Since their eventual fates are all still unknown, I find it kind of odd that some, like Mason, get by as they do. They know they're being watched.

| | Re: Dead Like Me Showtime Series | | But, what will happen to them, really?
I think they already feel that they are being punished having to stay behind and do this work, and for what - peanuts. They have the ability to continue "living" if you will, and they have no clue when the will be able to move on to the next planned activity.
(That brings up another question, how is it that the lady (I cannot recall her name) that Daisy replaced was able to move on with the Irishman that died by swordfish in the bar while he was dancing on the bar and celebrating his birthday? She jumped right in with the Irishman. How was she able to do that? And, why don't the other reapers try that too?)

I like knowing things like this too. I remembered the group sitting in the waffle house talking about it and George wondering what happened to her.
At least I am not losing my mind thinking, maybe, it was explained I did not catch it!
Thanks!
