OMG. I haven't read a book this good since

I read Peace Like a River.

Anyway....if you haven't read The Five People You Meet in Heaven, get it. I picked it up at the library last night and am almost 1/2 way done already. Can't put the darn thing down!

It's written by Mitch Albom, the guy who wrote "Tuesday's with Morrie". I've never read Morrie, but now I'll go back and find it.

Outstanding. Anyone read it yet?

No--but my son has to read Tuesdays this summer for a class in the fall. I just got it for him. Maybe I will read it too.

Re: OMG. I haven't read a book this good since

I think I have a to-read list that will go beyond my lifetime (I have a lot of catching up to do). But, I'm happy to add one more! Must be good, Lynn.

Don't we all!!! I have stacks of books (literally ) that are waiting to be read.

I had just found a short description of this one on Amazon when I was researching some work books and decided it was a must-read. Since it was on the hold list at the library, I figured my instincts were correct!

I loved "Tuesdays with Morrie" and have been thinking of adding this to my list. Your recommendation will make me move it up a few notches.

Are you going to review it for Epinions?

(that's a good one)

Actually, there are a couple of good reviews on it out there already. One of the reasons I snagged it.

I even sat down at lunch and read a couple of chapters. It's a fast and easy read, but well written.

Oh hell. I might as well write a review, I'm nearly writing one here!!!!

Re: OMG. I haven't read a book this good since

I read this, Lynn. I had to return it since there are 32 requests out on it. LOL. Kinda motivated me to finish. But, it wasn't hard. There was enough of a tickle to keep me going to each next page. Just one more.

Thanks for the recommendation. It was soothing and sweet.

Re: OMG. I haven't read a book this good since

Glad you liked it Sharon. I recommended it to my mom this weekend...she had heard negative comments about it from someone else, but said she valued my opinion more.

I also just returned Morrie to the library this a.m. That was wonderful as well. I am looking to buy both books because I think they are something that could be picked up over and over again to learn new lessons from.

Lynn

Thanks for the tip, Lynn. I'm adding this one to my book queue, too.

I haven't read this one or Tuesdays, but I grew up reading Mitch Albom. He was my favorite columnist. After watching some big game with my dad, I'd get up the next morning and turn first thing to his column. He's really an awesome writer with the ability to find a human touch.

Haven't read 5 Things, lynn, but did enjoy Tuesdays, although the movie with Jack Lemmon was poetry in motion!

Re: OMG. I haven't read a book this good since

Hint for anyone reading this thread: I've decided to choose "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" as the October Book Club choice. It's a fast read, and there are loads of discussion opportunities.
