| | In a word, Oy. I just went through the Fall Preview issue of TV Guide, once a favorite activity of mapping out the shows I would be watching and taping. This year there are barely two that I'll pay any attention to. I'm planning to watch UPN's Veronica Mars, a Nancy-Drew-meets-Peyton-Place mystery show. (As usual, I watch far outside my expected demographic.) And I'll give ABC's Lost a try, although since it's from the creator of Alias, I expect it will quickly fall off the deep end and I'll lose interest.

| | I haven't even looked at the upcoming season. I'm so happy baseball's almost over and hockey is almost here (football I like, but it's truly incidental in the scheme of sports - and yes at least I can watch baseball without screaming now since it's ALL PEOPLE WATCH HERE - grrrr - lol), and I waited SO LONG for this season of Six Feet Under that I am NOT pleased we're already at the finale. grrrrrrr I find I watch more shows on HBO these days than on the networks.
Occasioanlly I indulge my need for cheese and watch American Idol when it's in season, or maybe an episode here and there of Fear Factor, or a little Iron Chef, but I'm not all that into reality shows and sitcoms leave so much to be desired these days.
I am still in awe that the TV powers that be are trying to syndicate SATC on regular TV - after all the editing and cutting and whatnot will there even be any wit or humor left? Will the whole point of the hsow even come through any more? surreal. |

| | I’ll probably watch at least the pilot of Lost (I’m a fan of Alias) but will probably have a hard time suspending disbelief. An airliner with over a hundred people from a post-industrial society on it goes down, there are dozens of survivors, and not a single satellite global phone survives?
Yeah, I suppose I’ll watch it anyway, if only for the Ginger and Mary Ann factor. |

| | Sigh. Personally I've basically given up TV lately because the better shows seem to rarely get renewed and shows so frequently get cancelled in midseason. Lost sounds interesting though. I've gotten into Alias a bit or at least I caught the first season on DVD (and reserved the second).
I've been getting into shows late like that by checking the stuff out from the library. With DVD sales it seems as if the people running the TV networks are sure missing out by cancelling things early.

| | Yeah, I don’t watch a whole lot of broadcast TV any more, but I do have 380 DVD’s in my Netflix queue :p
It’s to bad that some shows that I’d love to watch (The Pretender, The Adventures of Briscoe County Jr, EZ Streets, Martial Law, Vengeance Unlimited) aren’t out on DVD.

| | Only new show I've seen so far is Joey, which may work out if they actually develop the characters, instead of relying on one-liners. I haven't managed to see any other premieres (of new or old shows) -- either we've been busy or watching the Red Sox. |

| Yeah, me too. Especially since I don't have cable, and miss all the good stuff. Saw all of The Sopranos that way, am starting to watch Oz (which isn't as good as The Sopranos, but what is?), some of Sex in the City, now I'm looking for other good stuff I might have missed. |

| | For a TV addict, I've been watching very little TV lately. Couldn't even get into the new Survivor. |

I watched the first two episodes and realized that I really didn't care what was happening so stopped watching.
With that qualification though, Six Feet Under is pretty good. I thought the first season was great and the second wasn't bad either.

I really miss the talking with the deceased that they used to do in the first few seasons. Now they only talk to those from their family who are dead, not the corpses they're working on. But at least they still show the quirky deaths. Anyone else think when they saw that 1970's death earlier this season? Great resolution to that mystery!

| | I know, Ander, which is why I limited my detail. I wanted to see if others caught it.

| | We've been watching Rescue Me on FX (with Denis Leary). I think it is one of the best shows on tv now and in recent years. | | |
