Tonight's episode of Er

Anybody see it? I have to say, it was the best they have done in a very long time. It was pretty scary, and realistic, at least we thought so. Both hubby and I thought it was very good.

Any other thoughts?

Re Tonight's episode of Er

LOVED it. Got really freaked at the part where Nixon became conscious but the other part of the anesthesia, the part that paralyzes you, hadn't worn off. The opening with her talking to the ambulance driver was good too. Made me realize I have to have a deeper discussion with Hubby besides "pull the plug" because if I were in a state where I could see and hear and couldn't communicate, I'd want Hubby to try ANYTHING the doctors said just might possibly work.

On the other hand... What's the point of even having Noah Wiley's character exist any more? All I've seen of him the past few times I've watched is him in either Grandma's mansion, being romantic with a girl, or his new townhouse, being romantic with a girl - first the Peace Corp-type doc and now the social worker. Doesn't he have any interest in being a doctor any more?

I managed to watch most last night's and enjoyed it. It does make you stop and think, doesn't it? I wasn't so sure about how *completely* she seemed to recover at the end, though. I know if you remove the source of the problem, it should mostly reverse but I'd think there would be lingering effects just from the fact that that area of the brain had been blood and oxygen deprived for a while.

I think I heard that Wyle is leaving at the end of this year, so that might explain his absence - maybe they're just trying to phase him out rather than kill him off or something.

yeah, I thought that too, but I've heard a lot of the effects can go away quickly, and they didn't linger on her talking with her kids or anything where we would have seen continued language problems or the like.

Puh-leeze. I was upset when I first heard he was going to leave, but his current plot line makes me WANT them to give him the boot. Go send him back to whatever country and end the plot mercifully.
