| | Was anyone else thinking that House managed to jump the shark its first season, only to be pleasantly surprised by the two-part season finale??
And is it true that a "new" season starts next month? |

| | Really! Next month? Cool.
I like HOuse. I love his delivery and wry sense of humor. The last 2 episodes were pretty intense. |

| | I don't agree - what I liked about House, aside form the sexy doctor with the acerbic wit (excellent writing on this show), was the LACK of romantic sub plots. It made both the show and character unique.
I could have stomached a slightly painful, slightly funny subplot of he and Cameron "dating" if it advanced the story, but I find that aside from the useful advancement of plot as to how House got injured, the ex-wife character is distracting. |

| | As soon as Cameron said she'd come back if House would take her on a date, I groaned. Smart, attractive female doctor turns into lovesick, mooning, needy female - BLECK. I didn't see the date episode but heard the date bombed, so I thought the shark was headed off for now.

| | I was horrified by the idea of the date too, but it worked. The date didn't work, but (without giving it away), the discussion that they had on the date was.....powerful. |

| | At least Cameron got to regain a bit of her dignity with her final (one hopes) observation about House's inability to love. If Sela Ward is around for only a few episodes, that can't hurt much. But an entire season of having House gaze longingly at her could get tiresome, especially if her husband has to linger in the background.
What I don't get is why House's colleagues (his employees, actually) still act the way they did at the start of the first season. Every time he suggests something medical, they respond as if he's crazy. The guy's never been wrong. Isn't it about time they give him the benefit of a doubt?
It's about time they started cutting him some slack because they're going to need him to have some patience for them when they stage the inevitable intervention about his pill popping. |

| | All I can say is, when I get sick, somebody better call Dr. House. I totally love the show.

| | We Tivo each episode of House and watch them together since I'm traveling during the week. I watch two shows -- that and American Idol. (Okay, the occasional Buffy rerun, but that's it...) As many of you pointed out, the show is very well written. For a while, it seemed to fall into a formula trap of: illness, misdiagnosis, wrong medication, chance of death, solve the mystery in the nick of time, heal and get all better.
That has changed lately, however, and I am glad to see the show stretching in new directions. I thought the episode showing how he was hurt was brilliant television. And I laughed (and still laugh, my wife thinks he and I share a dislike of humanity) when he said to Sela, "I'm just not sure I want him to live."
Talk about taking the doctor God complex to a whole new level.
Hey, speaking of docs and medical folks, where are MNM and Judy on the subject of this show? | | |
