Ever hear of Celtic Fusion music? I heard a live band at the LI Scottish Festival today - regular rock-band drum set, bass player, keyboards... and bagpipes. At one point they did a calypso song and added bongo drums. Believe it or not, it worked!

Birmingham here in AL has a good size drum and pipe band. A couple of the young ones were on PBS here recently during pledge drive when they were showing "On Eagle's Wing". http://www.hpd-pipeband.org/

I went today to hear pipe and drum (lots of 'em around the area come to this festival), but I'm so totally taken by this celtic rock - one song was like listening to Bon Jovi with a bagpipe instead of a guitar.
