Nancy Drew movie in development

Sure, Hardy Boy fans are still stuck with Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson [how's that for dredging up two names from the 1970s?], but Nancy is getting a whole new treatment.

From the Hollywood Stock Exchange board:

Quote:
The young and wily detective Nancy Drew is coming to the big screen. Author Carolyn Keene brought to life the teenage detective who unearths clues and solves mysteries in a series of popular novels. Andy Fleming directs the film with an adapted script by Holly Brix.

Your old music cannot sustain you through a life, not if you're someone who listens to music every day, at every opportunity. You need input, because pop music is about freshness, about Nelly Furtado and the maddeningly memorable fourth track on a first album by a band you saw on a late-night TV show. And no, that fourth track is not as good as anything on Pet Sounds or Blonde on Blonde or What's Going On, but when was the last time you played Pet Sounds? - Songbook by Nick Hornby

Hey! What was wrong with Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson? The latter was the very first poster I ever tore out of a Teen Beat magazine.

Er, perhaps I shouldn't admit that...

Carolyn Keene wasn't the real author of the series so it amazes me that they are advertising that she brought her to life. Carolyn Keene was a member of a group of writers that created both Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys.

Love this series, though

And I thought the "original" Carolyn Keene was a man anyway.

I LOVED The Hardy Boys show. And there was a Nancy Drew show... remember Pamela Sue Anderson???

If Hillary Duff or Jessica Simpson plays Nancy Drew I'm going to spit nails!

You know who I think would be perfect? Christy Carlson Romano.

I dunno. If you can get past the accent, the little girl who plays Hermionie (did I spell that right?) in the Harry Potter movies is awesome. She might be too old though.

And Dakota Fanning is too young, I guess.

Emma Watson. And she's too young.

Emma Watson is already 15 1/2, not far off the mark unless they're aging Nancy up any. By the time they got to filming she'd probably be the right age. But Emma doesn't scream "Nancy Drew" to me. Guess I'm too hung up on the pictures from the books, Nancy is supposed to look like that.
