That sums it up quite nicely. A strong case can be for each of them (except The Sex Pistols, who have no business being in before The New York Dolls), but collectively it's not an exciting group. Granted, it would be hard to match the excitement of a class that includes both U2 and The Pretenders. But I think we can try.
