| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | Which entertainment? Chris Daughtry doing the works of Burt Bacharach and duets with both Celine Dion and Charlotte Church or me banging my head repeatedly against a wall about the aforementioned proof that this IS hell? |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I had no idea Chris was born in Roanoke Rapids. I lived about 20 minutes away for 6 years.
At least signing with Clive willl give him his choice of the best studio musicians money can buy. Can't be all bad. Let's face it. If you drew up a list of the top 100 male vocalists in rock today, Chris Daughtry might not make the list. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | There's a difference between "top vocalist" and "someone I want to buy an album from." See about half the posts in this thread. Whether or not he does well is going to depend on him doing his own stuff and not covers, no matter how much I like them. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I don't disagree. It's not about being a good technical vocalist. It's about being a great rock male vocalist. And you start the list with whoever you decide to start the list with and you add the obvious names and then the top indie bands and then the regional acts and I don't know I Chris Daughtry is one of the top 100 male vocalists I would buy an album from. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | His first single won't be a cover. The music company knows it's going platinum and are not going to want to pay for it unless they already have it in their catalog. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I'm confused. I'm saying how do you know you won't rank him in the top 100 you'd buy without knowing what he's going to do? |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | Oh, I get you now.
I got confused too. As for his star power, I just don't think he has it yet. I think he has a hell of a lot of potential, but I never saw him light up a stage. If you still have the shows on Tivo or something, go look at the show where Wyclef or Stevie were around. The entire audience was pulled to their magnetism, their star power. Daughtry could be like that at some point. Maybe Taylor, too, and 1 or 2 others.
But even when he was on AI, I never wanted to rush back to the room because Chris was on. Make more better sense? |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I heard that. When my hubby first told me, I thought she had a contract to do a TV situation comedy pilot, because I think this is where her talent lies.
I wouldn't buy a CD of hers, but I would watch a situation comedy she was in if it were otherwise entertaining. | | | |
