| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I'll be more excited when Kevin is gone. ARG!
I was reading a new Idol-only blog from a blogger I read this morning and she and her sister said that Bucky reminds them of the Appalachian Emergency Room skit on SNL. I almost wet my pants. |

Bye Melissa. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I really thought Melissa had shown quite a bit of improvement on the last show.
On the other hand, I thought Kellie Pickler put in a poorer performance than her previous ones.
I don't like Taylor at all, but my husband says there's an MSN poll which consistently puts him in the top three. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I LOVE Taylor!!!
I don't think he's win, but the other night I came very close to calling in for the first time to vote for him! He's wonderful! |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | Yep. I'm guessing final three are Taylor, Paris and Chris.
I'm also guessing Taylor and Mandisa get no win but record contracts for each of them in their true genre
Chris is my prediction for win if he can keep up his current standard of showmanship and innovation.
Bucky or Ace is my prediction for next week's loser. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | Truthfully, I never got to see any of the men's American Idol shows, but I am completely perplexed by Taylor.
Is it that he looks like Burt Bachrach?
Is it that he could stand in for Adam Sandler in "The Wedding Singer?" (But without that core of inner sweetness that Sandler always has.)
I still like Katherine McPhee, although I thought her outfit on Tuesday was really dreadful. (The pattern on the dress was just too busy....)
I like Lisa, too.
I hope that one of those two is the top female. I think Chris has the inside track to be the top male. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I was happy to see Melissa go. She reminded me of my hated freshman year roommate.
My top five picks are Chris, Mandisa, Paris, Lisa, and Katharine. Hubby picked Chris, Mandisa, Taylor, Bucky(why???), and Elliot.

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | Random thoughts:
- First week I didn't connect with Pickler. I know she won't win, but I always liked her. Last week it seemed contrived and just bad.
-Thought Elliott crying at meeting Stevie Wonder was powerful TV. And really sweet.
-Lisa belonged in the bottom 3. This is where you have to show off if the audiences knows you can hit the money notes or style 'em to death if that's your thing. She went the wrong way and went with style.
-I thought Taylor was weak, but an okay performance overall.
-How many times have I said now that Chris is the Idol?
-Ace did better than he had in the past. I really think he did a good, not great, job.
-Bucky surprised me. He growled too many notes, but he lived on until this week or next.
-Paris is starting to annoy me. She's overmanaged.
Know what would be a cool Idol show? Reminds me of an audition or two I've gone to. You do your number and the director says, "Okay, thank you. Here's some music, would you sing this one?"
"When?"
"Now, boy."
And instead of "Judge's Choice" as something they get to rehearse, let them do the number right there. The musical director knows their ranges and what key the band should be in. Just hit him with the song right then.
(You know, I think I can whittle the field down to 5 or 6. Getting from 5 or 6 to 2 or 3 is going to be tough. Until Chris wins, that is) |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | The underwear model looked like he'd gotten kicked in the teeth when he found himself in the bottom 3. That should make him step things up a notch next week - it will also inspire more of his friends to vote for him.
I don't think Paris is going to last as long as people think. She hasn't lived up to her promise in most shows and the field is getting tough.

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I would have never in a million years known that was a Johnny Cash song unless they told me. G is a Johnny Cash fan, too, and liked it.
And WHAT was with Barry Manilow not knowing that Patsy Cline song? Has he been in a CAVE???
Please, please, America...I need Kevin to be gone. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | If it's Kellie instead of Kevin, I'll still be happy. She made that Patsy Cline number look like a streetwalker's lament. WHAT was that make-up? And outfit? |

Everyone at school today was loving Chris's song. I turned to hubby while he was singing and said, "I would buy his CD today." He has definitely become my top choice.
