| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | Yeah--I agree. It was pretty good last night. I didn't think they would get anybody there for a while.

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | Watched it while cleaning the house... very funny, but that one girl who kept singing "Blue Moon" was driving me bonkers. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I have a feeling that might not go well. Her mom looked a big stage-mom-like, and at 16, she just might have enough of an attitude to annoy me to death. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I didn't see it last night, but I saw part of it on Tuesday. What the heck was that Ukranian Freakazoid?????
And I heard this morning that the twins Darryl and Terryl have been arrested for financial fraud and buying a car in someone elses name. Too bad - they both sang really well. |

G was most impressed with the Ukranian girl. He said she could go work at Amy's club. Amy, can you get a performer's visa for working there? |

...yeah, and that Zach was a thing that made you go "huh?"
Blaming it on his androgyny...is denying that he just kind of sucked.

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | The Zach thing...
I really wanted to slap the mother upside the head. I felt terribly for him, mainly because he seemed very confused and the family just said "Well, he's eccentric."
Then the evil side of me got a terrible fit of the giggles when he said that they were bigots because they wouldn't accept him singing a women's song that WASN'T IN THE RIGHT RANGE. Honey, I've done Josh Groban songs at weddings. You fix the range. Does the American public want to hear people singing in the wrong key? I think not.
I haven't been able to even VENTURE to the forums at TWOP.. I fear my bladder control is not what it once was. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I wonder about the 16 year old girl as well. It's clear she's one the judges are planning to pass on to the final rounds.
What I love is when contestants come in and sing Paula Abdul songs.
Apparently the theme this year is brothers and sisters although I thought that of the two sisters, the one on the left (I think she was the younger one) was much better.
Yup, TIVO good. Up to date on 24 and AI. Now I just have to watch House. When did Fox actually start putting decent shows besides The Simpsons and X-Files on? |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | Last night, Simon was awesome.
When that one girl came in, it was obvious that she had some special needs, her singing was terrible. Paula and Randy said, "No," but they did it very carefully. Simon then told the girl that he would have voted yes and to keep on singing.
For a man who usually shows little tact and never pulls punches, this was Simon at his best.
It also convinces me more that his usual responses are for the camera's benefit. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | Which girl was that?
I was too busy wetting my pants after the one guy that felt the need to hold every note for 22.5 measures had purchased Paula & Randy's tape.
And yes, they sucked me in. I cried when the girl whose mother left her and father was in prison got her ticket to Hollywood. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | I can't watch the whole thing - it becomes to painful.
The squeeky voice girl was sweet.
The foster home graduate mom seems like an amazing woman.
The one in the lingere was frightening.
I don't think Simon is being Mr. Nice Guy. I think he's being really funny. He's saying yes to awful singers so that Paula will have to be the bad guy instead of him. It's a hoot. |

| | Re American Idol Season 5... | | OMG... the one in the lingerie! I was WETTING MY PANTS! I really need Depends for that show. Especially when she said that her mom bought her the outfit. WTF? You'd think even a stripper would have some small iota of common sense SOMEWHERE.
Did anyone else think Danny was the love child of Boy George and Rosie O'Donnell? I swear he was channelling both of them at the same time.
And yes... the grand-daughter. When she did Billie Holliday I had CHILLS. THAT'S the girl who might take it all. She seemed like she had it together and with a family in the industry, she might stay more grounded than the other teen girl. |
