What a wonderful gesture!

I love this idea. Now, all we need is for some enterprising soul to turn this into a write-off - review to be posted fairly soon after the Tuesday night movie.

Thanks for posting this, Curtis.

Hey! What a good idea! Why don't I volunteer to do JUST THAT.

(I was going to anyway; just hadn't set up the details -- which will come sometime this evening.)

I wish they had more films coming out this weekend for it... The only one coming out is Mariah Carey's Glitter and I don't think I am going to catch that one. Yeah they still have some that I haven't seen that I might want to catch but gosh the movie selection is pretty mediocre... Ummm... I think the theaters aren't doing terribly well right now anyhow.

Hmm ... an alternative for folks who can't get to a participating theater would be to rent a video, then contribute the difference to the two funds mentioned.

Yes. (That's a suggestion, anyway, am not going to twist anyone's arm on this.)

I won't be a part of the write-off, but I will be going to see Curse of the Jade Scorpion and contributing that day... if it is still at the theater.

Are they just doing ticket receipts, or are they adding in the ludicrously overpriced contributions of popcorn and soda as well?

Concession items, too. Get extra butter on your popcorn for charity.

Woohoo! Wait... the Edwards has them self-serve butter things.

I wonder how much of a gang-of-pricks the IRS will be about ticket stubs.

Cool

thanks for posting this info! I haven't been to a movie in I-don't-know-when, much less written an Epinion. This might be just the thing I need personally, as well as a dandy way to make a contribution. I have sold some artwork on eBay with proceeds going to the Red Cross, but I'd really like to do more.

I hadn't heard any publicity about it.

My band rehearses every Tuesday from seven to nine, but I might send my husband and my daughter.

Thanks for letting us know.
