the night after the awards, we were laughing so hard I cried. We did a medley of Oscar songs (or songs that we thought were Oscar songs) and after each we sang "it's hard out here for a pimp". We were out of control.

A friend of mine came up with another version while having dinner at a Japanese place. Now everytime I hear this, I want to sing "It's hot out here for a shrimp" instead of the real words. |

And Melanie - I've never heard it on the radio. I'm sure it gets play, but I don't listen to rap stations. I only heard it on the awards, but it sticks with you. |

Leno I think it was had a late-night show joke about how the staff at the Vatican gave Pope Benedict an ipod for his birthday, and now he listens to "It's Hard Out Here for a Pope."

I heard on the radio an older talk show host telling the kids of today how EASY they have it. He said, "One word to strike terror in your heart in school- DODGEBALL." Told about gym class, and how he got swirlies, and beat up from trying to dodge..
and ended up with.. . "It's hard out here for a wimp!"

All night long at this NICE menu tasting shindig I kept completing dangling sentences and filling pauses with "for a pimp" until EVERYone started filling wasted space with "for a pimp".....  |
