So our very, very good friend Shay (one of the people I miss the most from the West Coast) has a band, The Clare Voyants, out in Phoenix, AZ. Because they are so good, they are busy as heck. (They are opening for the Barenaked Ladies good. Fourth CD coming out good. Would (and have) flown somewhere to hear them good.)
They are a fantastic band live, with great charisma onstage, led by Shay, with fiddle by Jane (classically trained violinist. Shay "stole" her from the symphony) and mandolin and other instruments by Billy. They have a rotating fourth member (this has become kind of a joke among their followers - the fourth members keep leaving to form other bands that then fail), who is currently Pat (I think) who plays bass. Shay, Billy and Pat rotate Bohdran duties (Irish traditional drum).
Anyway, I've been dying to share their music with the music lovers on here but had no good way to do it.
Now I do! They finally okayed a MySpace page run by one of their legions of fans.

William Waits is one of my favorite songs, which is on there (and which is now my MySpace profile song - yay!).
Danny Boy is their hysterical song poking fun at Danny Boy and other old Irish chestnuts.
Just... go. Listen. You won't be sorry. Tell 'em John and Leslie sent you.
