| | So, I hated the first season of this show, and stopped watching after two episodes. That said, I'll be a loyal watcher this season.
Why? Because my very sexy, very talented chef friend from High School, Sara (hottie from Texas - natural redhead, but she tends to die her hair, so no telling what color she was on this show) is one of the contestants.
Want to help me root for her?
Will she be successful? I think so. The high school where we met was the same one where I met my honey. So like the rest of us from there, if anyone can take his crap and dish it right back it is Sara.
The first episode is June 12th at 9/8c on Fox http://www.fox.com/hellskitchen/ |

| | I really enjoyed this show last season and will watch it again. Maybe, it's because I live vicariously through Chef Ramsay. I'l help you cheer her on. |

| | Wow, I'll root for your friend, Leslie. From the clips I saw, however, I think that chef on there is MEAN. Makes Simon look like an !!!
Keep the thread updated just in case we miss an episode...how did she get the audition and get on the show? Is it like AI where they start with a zillion people and then pare down, or more like Appretice where there's a more select group to start with?

| | Okay, I watched last night and I'm hooked. It's like freaking military school in the kitchen, and I can't believe people would wait around for THREE HOURS with no food. I hope they were supplying free drinks.
Your friend is great, Leslie. I think she's got what it takes to win...I was dismayed last night when they all got drug out of bed and she was "missing" YIKES!
That Tom is a real a-hole. He needs to be gone, but I suppose he makes for good drama.

| | In LA aspiring actors and acresses will wait 3 hours or more for a) free food and b) a shot at some on-camera face time, no matter how minimal. *grin* |

| | Ah ha. I wondered about that...and they do such a great job of "acting" pissed off when they don't get their food!
Have you talked to Sara at all? I'm curious if they are all so palsy as they seem when they are in the dorms. And when they get to go with Chef Ramsey to the yacht or out to dinner, he seems like a nice enough fellow. I just don't think I'd want to work for him!

| | I watched this last night for the first time, and I'm hooked. Even Sooner, who hated last season, kept one eye on the TV the entire time. I agree with Lynn - Sara has what it takes to win this. I thought she was great!

| | ARG Missed it again, but at least I just went and set the season pass. I only have the remote when G Isn't home.
Also, please bear with odd capitalization today. KIds spilled something on my keyboard. |

| | As far as the actors and acresses dining, what happens with this and other shows like this that require participation is that the extras are chosen at random, and told to treat it like any dining experience - dress up, come hungry, don't act, just be yourself in that situation. They are unpaid. Any Joe Schmoe off the street can get a try at a spot on the show. If you live in the town they will hold the contest in next season and want to be on next season's Hell's Kitchen as a diner, write the network toward the end of this season when they are lining up diners and hunting for wanna be chefs for next season. The same is true of other reality shows with a participatory format.
I talk to Sara all the time, but she can't divulge too much about the show - they sign a non-disclosure form that limits how much they can reveal. She did say that the wannabe chefs do get along reasonably well in the house - a lot of the drama you see on television is creative editing. When it showed Heather all bent out of shape about being told to cook dinner for the guys by Jail Guy last night, for example, Sara said that was one sound bite from about an hour of talking - they pick the ones that make the best TV. |

| | Hello Heavenly!
Quite frankly, all the men are horribly type cast in the role of moron. None of them seem to be able to cook their way out of a paper bag...and they look like part of the Goodfellas cast.
Scary bunch!
Then again, Heather looks like she's going to have a cow any minute.

| | Six down, Six to go. And Sara's still in the mix!
Anyone think Heather is going to go for the revenge card on her? To vindicate her little pal Rachel?
I love Sara's attititude, Leslie. "BRING IT ON" she seems to swagger.
